![]() Hats off to Huda for creating this palette as it’s a breath of fresh air in terms of color variety, texture, quality and even packaging. I’m really impressed with this palette! I knew I liked the look of it but playing with the colors and testing the formula further reiterated that we definitely have a winner on our hands. TIP: Pick up a small amount of Cosmo with the tip of a flat shader brush, mix it with your glitter glue/mixing medium for a mess-free application. If that happens however, all you need to do is press it back into the pan and it’ll return to its original form. It does require some careful handling as it crumbles quite easily. TIP: As an example: Create a matte, chocolate-y smoky eye with Oud and apply a layer of Twilight with hints of pink/lavender shimmer over it.Īnd then there’s Cosmo which is pure pressed glitter. The duo-chrome toppers, Retrograde, Twilight and Celestial can be used as a soft wash of subtle shimmer on their own or as the name suggests, can be used on top of other colors to change the depth and dimension of the looks you’re creating. The mattes are quite silky, the pressed pearls give off plenty of shimmer on their own but you can also intensify them further by using a damp brush or applying with your fingers. The way these eyeshadows blend is also effortless. TIP: Always start with a small amount on the brush, tap off the excess and build the color to preferred intensity from there. There’s a slight bit of fall-out during application but that’s expected with such high pigment shadows. The rich browns and purples are perfect for fall, the softer shades of peach and oranges are a great transition into spring, while bronze and shimmer shades are gorgeous for glistening summer looks.Įvery single eyeshadow in this palette has amazing color payoff. Here’s a break down of the palette – color and finishes:Ĩ x Matte: Blazing, Saffron, Amethyst, Oud, Amber, Eden, Musk, and Desert SandĦ x Pressed Pearl: Turkish Delight, Angelic, Cashmere, Royal, Nefertiti, and Blood Moonģ x Duo-Chrome Toppers: Retrograde, Twilight, and Celestialįurthermore, the colors in this palette can be used all year round. There are plenty of muted earthy neutrals for daytime looks, violets and orange/reds for a pop of color and of course the pressed pearl and glitter shades to really dial up your looks for night time or even editorial (if you’re a pro artist). In terms of color, this palette again ticks all the boxes. This wide variety of colors and finishes makes the palette extremely versatile meaning you can create countless different looks to suit all occasions. I really appreciate that the Desert Dusk Palette offers a great balance of matte, pressed pearl (shimmer), duo-chrome and even pressed glitter all in the one palette. Most eyeshadow palettes will have a blend of matte and shimmer finish shadows which is expected. Along with an amazing combination of colors, what I love most about this palette is the variety of texture and finishes. Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette features 18 eyeshadows. One word I can use to describe this palette is: Rich! I took plenty of close up photos of the palette so you can see the texture and the colors of the eyeshadows as close to the real thing as possible. All the eyeshadow names are printed below each pan and there’s a transparent divider which again has the same picture of Huda’s eyes. There’s a large mirror on the inside – an upgrade from her last eyeshadow palette which didn’t have a mirror. As you move the palette in the light, the shimmer over her eyes and the crystals on her headpiece glisten. The cover of the palette itself features Huda’s eyes with a matte/metallic combination finish. The external packaging has a soft metallic color theme which carries into the palette. The packaging of Desert Dusk Palette alone draws you in. Last palette I was this excited about was Anastasia Modern Renaissance and to this day, it’s still one of the best selling eyeshadow palettes. The Desert Dusk Palette is possibly the prettiest palette I got my hands on in a long time. If you purchase products via these links, I may get a commission at no extra cost to you ![]() The new Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette definitely fits this bill. With so many new eyeshadow palettes being launched almost weekly now, I know the color schemes and the trends can get quite repetitive.īut every now and again, a palette comes along which offers something a little different and demands attention.
